Svoboda youngsters impress in tie

NK Svoboda manager Samlegend has commended the effort of his young players after they grabbed a draw at FC Fishbones 2, giving the team a great chance of qualifying for the third round of the Cup for the first time. Samlegend fielded no less than six youth players in his first eleven and when Sirvan Kahlid was fouled in the box, veteran Skjalg Wardenær stepped up to smash the penalty into the roof of the net. That was how it stayed until the 92nd minute, when fatigue finally got the better of the young side and Joe Kavanagh latched on to a hopeful punt into the box to head an equaliser with the home side's first chance of the game. The away manager said, "it's disappointing to miss out on the win in the last minute, of course, and I will probably have to play a few of the more senior lads in the second leg to ensure we do make it through. But this was a great effort by the young lads, especially away from home where we tend to struggle."
