Now that's what you call a game.......
.........7 goals, 4 yellow cards, 2 red cards, an injury and the title pretty much wrapped up like a present from Father Christmas...

Yesterday saw the top 2 in Dream Leagues division 7:105 go head to head and what a game it proved to be!

At the start of the day Kevs big lads Utd sat 5 points behind Estremitá Del Nord and only a win would leave them with any chance of overhauling them in the standings so it was no surprise to see their manager opt for a very attacking set of tactics going for a 3-4-3 formation and playing offensive. Estremitá Del Nord settled for a more traditional and trusted 3-5-2 and playing normal.

The action started as early as the 8th minute as Estremitá took the lead, a perfect cross from Abbe Edqvist was headed home by midfielder Staffan Flemström. The lead was however short lived as Kevs big lads Utd found an equaliser just 3 minutes later, Thorben Scharf finding the net after good work from Norris Fensome.

The 17th minute saw Estremitá once again take the lead, this time a direct free kick saw Casillas Iker step up to the mark and as we already know from his exploits this season he does not miss free kicks and made it 2-1 with a stunning strike that left the Kevs big lads Utd keeper with no chance. Once again though the lead was short lived with the home fans celebrating their second equaliser in the 21st minute after Curt Daley slotted home a ball from Colbert Broadfoot and left the home fans dancing on terraces and believing they could upset the odds.

However the 27th minute saw Estremitá take the lead for the 3rd time in the match, this time provider of the 1st goal Abbe Edqvist turned goal scorer as he slotted home a ball from Jesper Vahlström. And their was to be no 3rd equaliser though as in the 42nd minute Estremitá were awarded another free kick, once again Casillas Iker stepped up and as already said he does not miss and made it 4-2 with a what was again a stunning strike, he has certainly been the purchase of the season in div 7:105. And 4-2 was how the half ended, a half which also saw bookings for two Kevs Big Lads Utd players in Thorben Scharf and Colbert Broadfoot.

So half time and the league leaders were winning 4-2, you would be forgiven for thinking the 2nd half would be a coast for them and while they did create lots of chances it was their opponents who scored the 7th goal of the game with Curt Daley scoring his second goal of the game this time from distance and again it was game on. It was Estremitá however who bossed the remainder of the half creating numerous chances without finding that killer goal and the away fans had a nervy wait for the final whistle which was greeted with we are the champions when it was finally blown, Estremitá having wrapped up a 4-3 win and given themselves an 8 point lead with only 4 games left of the season.

As with the first half the second also saw the referee getting card happy, the visitors having two players booked Zenon Janda and Stig Selander, the latter also receiving a second yellow late in the game and getting his marching orders which did take some shine off the result. Kevs big lads Utd also ended the game with ten men after Stig Selander got a second yellow in the 75th minute, they also lost 2 goal provider Norris Fensome through injury in the 81st minute. All in all a very eventful game probably made so by the home teams attacking set up.

After pretty much wrapping up the title it was only right we grabbed a word with the Estremitá Del Nord manager Rankine:

"It certainly was an eventful game and when I saw our opponents tactical set up I always knew it would be. To be fair they gave it a good go and left nothing on the field, their manager and players cannot be blamed for not going for it, and their fans at the end of the game showed their appreciation for their efforts applauding them off the pitch, they will certainly grab a play-off place and give whoever their opponents are a tough game and good luck to them I hope they join us in div 6, (yes I know we haven't won the title yet but would you bet against us)......"

"Although Kevs big lads Utd gave us a very tough game I don't think we made it easy for ourselves, they only created 5 chances and yet scored 3 of those, now was that good attacking from them or poor defending from us, I will watch the video of the game before deciding, and at the other end of the pitch we created 12 chances yet only scored 4, again was that poor attacking from us or good defending from our opponents, again the video will tell me more. For now though we will enjoy our win and probable league title but know we will have to get better as our journey up the leagues continues.........."
