Battle Won

FC Tanon emerged victorious in part one of mega fortnight. The Tanites got the better of Ginger AFC with 2 goals from 5 chances in the 1st half. The 2nd period of the game was rather subdued with only one chance falling to the Carrot Tops but Florinel Filioreanu passed up the chance to close the deficit.

The game started with a bang as Ginger AFC conceded two freekicks in the first 15 minutes but Szilard Dunai wasn't his usual critical self both times failing to convert. But it was 3rd time lucky as he found the net with yet another freekick in the 21st minute. Right before halftime, Colby Irons scored with a long range shot which proved to by a hurtful blow to Ginger AFC's chances of getting back into the game. That goal was assisted by Laurent Lhote who is building a substantial at the top of the 'points' table and it proving to be one of the division's best playmakers at the ripe age of 31.

Keithsiah and his men now lead the table by 4 points over IIha do Retiro who overtook Ginger with a 3-0 win over basement club Fc Barzelona. Keithsiah however, is not getting carried away. "It is only 4 points and it is only half way into the season. If my team can build a 4 point lead with half the season, there's no reason why the other teams can't. We got to keep pushing on."

FC Tanon will get a chance to push on indeed with another blockbuster against Ginger AFC this time in front of the UpYours faithful. Over at the weekend, FC Tanon played an all mighty exciting friendly against AAC which ended 7-3 to the home side. Keithsiah would be pleased by the performance of his reserve squad led by Irons who took over in the playmaker role as all the other stars were rested and won the man of the match with 2 goals and 1 assist.
