Molin mauling is our Santa Claus
His hands clutch his groin and they come away revealing mud, blood and filth; but Ms Rinn is unimpressed. Matchstick forward Conny Molin has been chopped in the 16th minute of the cup-tie against Dark Sapo.

Referee Wanda Rinn wants games to flow so, when shortly after a Dark Sapo player is caught in the face with a flailing elbow she again plays the advantage. Her hope that overlooking such minor infractions helps with the flow actually leads the game into an escalating and trench warfare mentality of attrition.

In the previous game, in the league, Conny Molin was involved in the 2nd minute disallowed own-goal, and took a booking on the say-so of Milan’s manager and the baying of the home crowd. Milan eventually won that match plunging the Matchstick Men into a relegation situation.

Molin is pumped up for the cup game, after the league loss to Milan, but the delicate injury riles him: more so the lack of cards from Ms Rinn. He waves his bloody and filthy hands in vain.

A grievous slice on a Sapo player, sending him home on a stretcher, delights the home crowd; but the Matchstick Men are making little headway to secure their overall lead in this two-legged tie. It gets worse as Sapo take the lead in the 50th minute.

The equaliser on the night comes five minutes later but it is Conny Molin dropping in the box on the 71st minute that sets the stadium alight. Molins first half protestations held no water but the assault on his body this time brooked no excuse: a clear penalty.

Rodger ‘deadly’ Hedley scores from the  resulting spot, killing the tie to leave the remaining twenty-odd minutes as an Estadio Lucifer explosion of success.

The rest of the game passes like a ghost in the night. The blood and semen stained stretcher, which Molin leapt from to rejoin the game early doors, hangs heavy over the proceedings like a threatening cloud.

“We want more of this,” decides Brazil a long time later, “our struggle is our Santa Claus”.

Brazil leaves the press conference and walks into another blood and semen stained night.
