Well we seem to be the draw specialists this season and despite our "bitter rival" Cloggie insisting we have a great chance this season (it seems Cloggie does this to his opponents, tells them they are favourites for the title even though his team is doing very well, subconsciously taking the pressure off himself, I'm on to you Cloggster). Well first of all I was unfairly accused of being the "underdog" due to the excessive amount of injuries we have had to contend with, words that never came out of my mouth in any presser, maybe it was a subconscious message, I dunno lol! I never claimed anywhere to be the underdog though.
Drawing three matches has given Cloggies a comfortable 4 point lead at the top of the table, I wonder who the next subconscious favourite to win will be, (wasntme) Next up we face Konky who is hot on my heels sitting just 1 point behind along with Animaldodeserto, we definitely have our work cut out and with the smallest budget a team in the top division can work with, we are on rations at the moment,
This is leading somewhere, bear with me, back to football, so last night in the third round of the cup I decided it was a good time for us to be out of the cup, I know Cloggies' aim has been to exit the cup too. So with the 1-0 away win for us in the first leg I decided to field our weakest squad, giving the younger players some valuable DV, just a 50k win bonus and the hope that we would exit the cup. Funny how these things work out isn't it? It looks like our opponent didn't set tactics and we won 4-0, hells bells!!
This and Cloggies won too, meaning both of us are through to the fourth round of the cup, sigh...I logged onto the team this morning to see we have been offered a talent by the Youth Academy, with very little anticipation of something decent being offered I opened the mail to see we had been offered a 17/5 defender, woahhh, its some kind of miracle, yay! Do I play or do I sell, players like this do not come along very often but we have very little in the way of funds, either way I will have a think about all the options, we really do need to exit the cup though!
After the joy of our new arrival this morning, it was time to see who we would be playing against in the 4th round of the cup next week. I clicked on matches without too much excitement or anticipation as really the match is just a formality for us, we need to exit the cup ASAP, our next opponent in the cup is.....CLOGGIES, omg how can this be, the SYSTEM has a sense of humour ya? Not only do I have to play our "bitter rival" twice in the league, now I have to play against him in the cup we are both trying to exit (yeah right lolz). Really though, good luck Cloggie and I really do mean it; honestly (blows kiss)...
