Azizadeh replaced |
HNK Perth have confirmed they have received an offer for club legend Said Azizadeh and he will be leaving the club on Tuesday. With 240 games, the 37 year old holds the the 5th highest amount of appearances for HNK and despite his age, has expressed his desire to play on for at least another 2 seasons. Mother Toad was keen to sell the defender despite the fact he is still one of their best defensive options as he looks to rebuild the squad and give his replacement, 21 year old Christian Gamboa, a chance to develop.
"When I say I am focused on rebuilding HNK Perth to get us back to where we should be the fans know I am serious about it. I know that other manager's versions of 'rebuilding' include spending a few million econs on 33 year old midfielders despite sitting on a gold mine of econs, but I will spend our resources wisely with acquisitions like Gamboa."
Mother Toad is considering selling other first choice players in which case fans will again need to adjust their expectations to fighting for Division 5 survival. As for the relegation Mother Toad was not too upset.
"I knew it would be tough to stay up, but really our task was made impossible when Iron Chef decided that their season defining, promotion dependent match, would be the right time to give experience to their sub-par youth players. He deserves to be sacked by the board immediately."
Mother Toad laughed at suggestions he would be having a beer with Inthegenes, citing a busy pre-season schedule, however, he did extend an invite to his opponent to attend a HNK training session to help him learn the game.
