Oops... We did it again!! |
Firefly Xpert FC manager Aryan was ecstatic in the post match conference. A lot was said about Aryan's potential when he took over the team and won a controversial 6th division title last time. His adversary (at that time) Rsole pointed out that anyone can perform to the level Aryan did with somebody else's team. But two division titles in a row should shut all the critics up!
Aryan showed up with retiring defender Leopold Young and the club's MVP Robbie Strummer in the post match conference.
Reporter: How would you sum up your season?
Aryan: Oops... we did it again! Although it was a tough one. Until round 11 we never once had the pole position in the division. Thanks to a consistent performance by our lads we nicked the title at the very end, comfortably. There were lots of injuries in between and it was sad to see our captain, Joe Gylfason being stretchered off in the last game too. But its a part of game so no complaints there.
Reporter: Leo, you have announced your retirement this season. How would you describe 2 brief seasons with Aryan.
Leo: Aryan is climbing up very quickly and it wouldn't surprise me to see him in top 100 soon. 8 managerial awards out of a possible 14 this season pretty much sums it up. I am happy to end my career at this great club. Playing alongside Joe was an honor and am glad that i was a part of the team that conceded least number of goals in their division, 2 times straight. If I was fit enough to continue then I would have been with the Fireflies.
Reporter: Robbie, you are the MVP of Firefly Xpert FC, stacking up 10 goals and 10 assist in just 19 games, in your maiden season with them. Do you see a future with this club?
Robbie: I sure do. As long as the club wants me to play for them. I was a bit surprised to get the freekick duty as soon as I joined. But I am glad Aryan trusted me and I haven't let him down. I play alongside quality players like Jarvis, Mateo and Nikica and would want to build up the teamwork more and more the coming season.
Reporter: Coming back to you Aryan, What are your future plans?
Aryan: I love this club at the moment and would love to stay with them. But the higher management is apparently not liking the way we play. They want more goals and spectacular football. That contradicts my footballing philosophy. I am getting lots of tempting job offers but I will try my best to resolve the differences and continue with the Firefly Xpert FC.
Reporter: No interview is complete without your comment on Rsole (Brunei manager). Do you have any message for him?
Aryan: Haha, I was wondering why you didn't ask that yet. Well, I would like to congratulate him for winning his division's title with an inferior squad. He is a great manager, and one day I hope to become one too. But unfortunately we won't go H2H next season too, unless a freak draw in the cup allows it.
Will Aryan remain faithful to Fireflies after 2 successful seasons or will he jump ship?
