Good Finish

Babs diced with death from the opening match of the season when a home defeat set the tone for the campaign and saw us flirt with relegation. Then when we found form so did others around us, which made for a nervous time with time running out and youths needing games fast. We finally managed to break away from the relegation battle just in time and found our rhythm. We had to sacrifice one of our young strikers in order to field slightly more experienced line-ups for survival; but we turned over a tidy profit on his sale. It also freed up game time for his even younger strike partner, Ramirez, who profited from this transfer and had a very good end to the season. Where we excelled was in the cup, putting in by far our finest performances and over turning some great teams along the way, until we finally met our match in the 7th round. For a 4th division team that is a good enough cup run to paper over the rest of the dissapointments and make it a successfull season all round. We got what we wanted: survival in the 4th, a great cup run and a great change report made possible at least. You never know until you see it in front of you, but I'm confident we will improve across the board which will hopefully stand us in good stead for a better league campaign next season. Congratulations to Verang Mavericks on winning the division and we wish them all the best in the 3rd division, and good luck to Saltire in the playoffs to move back up into the 3rd again.
