Gaffer Reassesses Squad Potential After Gruelling Season
Team Laser Explosion gaffer Kevymca spoke to the press this afternoon, in a rare foray in front of the cameras, to express his relief at survival from as he put it "the strongest group of teams yet faced by this side."
He added; "Commiserations to both Tonbridge Invicta and Boulogne FC. Two very strong sides went down from this division, which I believe is one of the strongest in the 4th tier. I'm relieved we survived, pulling off nothing short of our best performance of all time to beat the Juniors last week. And of course, hats off to the Balka Juniors for their league victory. They were easily the strongest team here, but I'm glad they didn't get to take this division lightly, and Diogenes pushed them hard until the end.
"This side took some time to build, and the improvement has been small but incremental over the last thirteen seasons. But now I believe we need to take time to marshal a new group of young players through the doors. That may come at a cost, so I'm asking our supporters to stick with us as we try to rebuild for another explosive push up the divisions."
The management explained their first port of call was to strengthen the forward line, get the team settled with a few youngsters, and test the side out with a friendly or two before heat of battle begins again next season.
