An unexpected promotion

It looked as though survival was the only aim part way through the season for Trumans (then known as Lokomotiv Knightsbridge) as we languished 2nd from bottom of Xpert League Division 2a, but the players got their act together and played for the new boss and after a run of really good results, we managed to move up into the play off spot, behind worthy Division champions Homeless FCG. That was beyond anything that we could've hoped for after the start we had made. To win the play off game vs a very good and well managed Matchstick Men team, albeit after the lottery of penalties was the cherry on top of the cake. After 4 games of the season, the manager would gladly have settled for 5th place and safety. Commiserations to Matchstick Men who took us all the way, your turn will come soon. Now we face the daunting task of life in Division 1a and it looks a massively competitive group, once again, I'll gladly take 5th place and safety right now if it was offered.
