A 0-0 draw between Archley Villa and FC Barnstone was probably a fair reflection of how the two teams matched up on the opening day of the season. Chances were few and far between with Barnstone creating the slightly better opportunities. As well as shading the possession the away side forced more saves from the Villa goalkeeper but were unable to breakdown a defence who have only conceded one goal in their last four competitive matches. The travelling support were certainly the happier set chanting long after the final whistle had blown. Manager greyhound admitted they had gone to 'contain' the newly promoted side but were hopeful of chances on the break.

"The game plan worked well, we stopped them hurting us and created the better chances, all we needed was a bit of composure which was probably just lacking slightly."

When asked to comment on Mat1204's pre-match comments regarding Barnstone's squad, greyhound was understandably bemused at the analysis.

"I prefer to concentrate on the 90 minutes, if manager's are taking the time out to do that it can only help us in the respective preperations for the game. To question the age and longevity of our squad when he's just spent five and a half million on four players with an average age of nearly 33 is humerously ironic."

Barnstone welcome Falmouth Town to Works Lane next Friday after the second leg of their cup tie with FC 4B on Monday. Falmouth also gained a point on the opening day after conceding a fairly late goal to Arnolds Fanclub. Greyhound admitted it would be another stern test as Flamouth are trying for the second time to bounce back to level four in the divisions. Greyhound admitted he didn't know much about Falmouth but was intrigued with some of the names within the squad from Suffolk.

"We need to do some in-depth homework on them, They have some talented players but we haven't looked at them yet. Only enough to believe some of their names must be made up?? Psyco McBerserker? Hardi Sittangang? Hans Ven Feeler?? Great names, I need some of them in my squad, I might send a few to get theirs changed."
