Benavent injured AGAIN!? |
"For a player who isn't even fragile on paper, he sure keeps our physio busy," was LukeFM's 'staying positive' take on the latest development in the medical record of his infamous sole keeper Fausto Benavent.
For the 27 year-old was stretchered off in the 65th minute of Friday's cup game against Low Life BK, which the recently-renamed XIV at least managed to win. But the injury will leave Balka Juniors without a keeper going into the biggest week of the season, and arguably even in the club's entire history.
"He really has a habit of doing this at the worst possible time too," said a still-just-about-smiling LukeFM. "I mean, he couldn't have done a better job if he tried. A big test in the Cup against Division 1's U.E. Horta, against whom I'd ordinarily be confident of mounting a decent challenge, sandwiched by a double header against Division leaders Trumpton Celtic... good work, Fausto. Good work".
Doctors are confident that the 27 year-old will be able to feature in some form when Trumpton Celtic visit the Avenue de L'ol in 10 days time, however they have ruled him out of the preceding games.
" The icing on the cake, is that you add in an injury to Axel Witsel and a suspension to Hector Hodge - one of our all-rounders, would you believe - and our squad of 14 only has 11 eligible players for the next match.
"Someone's making voodoos of the entire squad, it would seem".
