So this happened... |
Super League Championes ole ole ole!
Firstly a shout-out to former manager STRAHINJAAA, I found him in the Yellow Pages, @goodbuildersrus. He was last active just a few weeks ago, sure he'll be back to have a look at the end product - we done it.
I took on this team around two years ago and the plan was simple, finish what was started. We landed straight promotions, two Cups, one GIRL League title, the latter merit was the most important part. A squad like this should really be winning titles, so it's hardly a surprise. Thing is - the Super league is a different test - it wasn't easy, and last season proved that one screw-up is...well, one too many.
I had viewed this window as our best opportunity to deliver, and pretty much gambled development over two seasons on this being successful. If I've learned anything from this game over the years it's this: You have to know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. - and allow years of development come to fruition, the starting eleven should be handed that moment to reap reward.
With that said, knowing when to stop going for glory and preserve is equally vital. A few years back I left a team in its peak (Stratocasters). The next manager went on to scoop multiple titles and records, dumped the squad and eventually they were deleted. Personally it's important to me that I don't repeat that.
We also managed to come through the XCL as top seed, and now face Homer in the L16. It looks tough considering we've just had the change report and this very hurdle killed our chance last season. Hopefully ZP are more assertive this time around (skill overall has just been improved) and we'll focus on these latter stages prior to choosing which players are to be sold for future development.
RAAAAAAAWWRRR.
