After a rough couple of years, Mega Salvador League has appointed Avernus, their most successful manager in history, back.
Avernus, whom managed the side from 2009-2014, took a break from management all together when he left the helm at the then named "Big-Big Dragon Team", could not refuse the opportunity to reclaim old glories for his most beloved club, saying:
It was important for me to recharge my batteries. I´d been in management for 6 years when I left BBDG, 5 of them with the club, and I was just drained; simple as that.
I was studying down in Bournemouth, England, when Nick (Club Director) phoned me up and offered me the job. And out of love for the struggling side, I said yes.
Nick Leback, club director, had been playing with the idea for a while to approach Avernus; but knew the young Icelandic manager needed the break, and wouldn't approach him until he knew he would get the answer the club needed. Leback explained:
The club needs stability, and with Avernus, we not only get that, we go back to the BBDG roots, focus on youth and free-flowing, attack minded football. We get the excitement back for the fans.
We are so happy to have him back, let's just hope the batteries are in fact as charged as he hopes them to be.
When asked if the club would go back to it's roots and change its name to Big-Big Dragon Team once again, Nick replied:
Of course.
