One day we had a dream....

And yesterday that dream came true!!!

Back at the end of 2009 we made a new team in the Xpert Ladies in division 8. We set our target to one day be Champions of the Xpert Ladies League. We thought it might be impossible with so many established and rich teams, with a "different" transfer market - but we dared to dream......

In 21 seasons we have seen our team climb up the divisions and also face some demotions also - we have seen our team win the Cup trophy last season a very proud moment for us.

But nothing made us so proud as to reach the top division after so many seasons of hard work.

It just so happenned that I booked a 3 week holiday near the start of the season - so we actually in our minds had next season as the one to challenge for the title. Although it led to us being knocked out of the cup early on - which was heartbreaking as defending champions, we managed to scrape a few points in the league and when I came back we went on a decent run and managed to stay close to the Champions Don't Stop me now.

By match day 10 we for the first time reached top spot in the league after victory to 10 Dezembro after Don't Stop me now faltered with a draw against Jackie Brown.

Then on match day 11 it was our turn to falter a defeat, a first of the season to us against Shieldmaiden. We thought there and then that our title chance had gone, would we get another chance?

Match day 12 and it was Don't Stop me now who struggled against Shieldmaiden who were now having a real say in the title race and the game ended in a draw whilst we beat Man City Ladies in a close game.

Everything rested on match 13, our game against Don't Stop me now. We had home advantage and the points advantage and could afford to draw. We knew our defence was rock solid and could give a few chances away and still get the draw and that's what we played for and that's what we got! Now all we had to do was beat Juve Girls in our last game to take the title, but it was an away game and the Juve girls had just won the last 3 in a row and 5 out of their last 6!

We took absolutely nothing for granted and totally went for it, and we ended up 4-1 winners to take the title and enter the hall of fame and the history books so becoming one of the few teams to take both league and cup in the ladies.

This is no doubt my proudest moment in X11 and we will cherish this moment for a long time to come!
