Folkers draw league champs in Cup

Ferry Folkers have been rewarded for their remarkable 8-7 penalties victory over division 2d's Real Buckeyes in the last round of the cup with a mouth watering fifth round tie against Ambitiosii the reigning league champions.

The Folkers have been in fine form of late with their cup win taking their winning streak to 9 games since getting their act together after a less than satisfactory draw and loss to start the campaign. It was a tough, close game against Real Buckeyes, the division 2 team taking a ninth minute lead only for the underdogs to equalise through substitute Olegario Gomes with 76 mins played. The teams could not be separated by extra time and an eventful round of penalties was won by the Folkers keeper Abelardo Conte who stepped up to slot away the winning kick after making a fine save.

Fans aren't expecting too much when the face the champs but their manager said "Obviously it will be difficult but we will give it our best shot, there will be a big difference in skill but that is where we want to be in the future so it will give the lads the chance to prove themselves against the best and know where they need to aspire to be."

The Folkers are second in their league and will be hoping to maintain if not increase their 4 point gap to third when they face Los Campesinos in back to back games. It is going to be an intersting week for their fans, one their manager won't need to ask for the crowds backing, as they are sure to be in full voice.
