Kelly's Angels' best player from last season is to be sold!!!
The 19yr old forward Manu Calero had a fantastic campaign, and it now looks like he is on the move after attracting other clubs with his silky skills and an eye for goal.
The clubs manager (Mr AJ Rowlands) is very disappointed to lose such a young talent, but admits he is powerless to stand in Calero's way.
We caught up with the gaffer at the club's training ground this morning and this is what he had to say on the subject,
"had it not of been for Manu Calero last season we may of not gained promotion. He was outstanding, he can strike a sweet free-kick and his passing is exceptional for a boy of his age. He knows where the goal is! He can be moody at times, but on a good day and when he is in form, he is nothing short of a world-beater!."
Rowlands added,
"when the season was coming to an end, our chairman told me that other clubs had enquired about Manu. I knew at this point that there was every chance that we could lose him! We are a young team and when big clubs come knocking you are powerless to stand in their way.
"I've spoken to the player and he himself has admitted that, should the right move come along which suits him and the club, he would like to leave! I'm gutted! But at the same time happy for our player, he has earned the attention and a potential transfer to a bigger club.
"I can confirm that we have put Manu Calero up for sale, and a deal with another party should be completed by tomorrow morning. With this all being said and nearly done, I would like to wish the lad all the very best for the future. He has shown great professionalism especially for someone so young. He will be very much missed by myself, the training staff and his fellow team-mates.
"Good luck kid it's been a real pleasure!"
