Babs win Master League... finally |
A very offensive Babwintodaymaybe produce their very best to bring home the big prize following what was the Master League's best ever team performance
Believing the start of the day's table- toppers, Ambush Knights, would come and defend, we felt that we just had to be brave and go all out for it and trust in our returning strike partners to get us the win.
The visitors sprung a surprise themselves though and, whilst they did as suspected and go all out defensive, they matched our 3-5-2 line-up which made me realise it was going to be a nervous day as they would be constantly looking to counter. So it proved as they ran in to the lead in the first minute and we had a mountain to climb.
Our returning striker Ramirez, who has been out for weeks and has worked so hard to get back for this final match shaving days off his expected return date, grabbed the vital equaliser in the 17th minute before providing the assist for his strike partner Idberg to get us back on track just before the half hour mark. Dario Prats made it 3-1 just before half-time and we were looking unstoppable now.
Tactically we were still vulnerable but the players more than made up for my shortcomings by putting in not just our best ever team display, but the Master League's best ever team display: a whopping 21 rating. What a time to pull that out of the bag!
Commiserations to Bispen it is a harsh way to lose after such a great season.
