League title win |
For their final fixture of their long hard campaign, Shady Rebels were on the road to play against Real Subbuteo in the League, knowing maximum points would all but guarantee them retaining their title - only 2nd place winning away against 3rd place by several goals could then deny them.
Rebels fans were in disbelief when the already relegated hosts seemingly took the lead inside twenty-five minutes through lone striker Miguel de Cunha, but it was chalked off for offside, with replays showing the front man was a yard off before he rounded Randrup to slot home.
The opening goal arrived five minutes prior to the interval, when Rebels' top scorer this season, midfielder Sune Ewerlöf, nodded in a Dave MacDoir corner at the back post to give the visitors a lead at the break.
With the goal before half time appearing to take some pressure of the players, Shady Rebels started the 2nd half full of confidence and duly doubled their advantage within two minutes, when forward Cícero Miguel Araújo broke clear of his marker to side foot in from ten yards.
Teddy Casparsson capped off the scoring with the Away sides third on the hour mark, when he was put through on goal by club Captain and MVP for the season, defender Pär-Ola Ax, to send the visiting support into raptures.
A serious injury to Kasper Wallster a few minutes after didnt dampen the mood for the Rebels, who within half an hour later were crowned Dream League Champions.
