Supporters of Euro League Division 7:1 side, Swanselona, were today celebrating winning the League title after a substantial 6-0 win over Liverpool. However, with manager Joseph Thomas' name on the lips of all of the supporters songs, it seems he had already planned his exit from the club.
A Swanselona club statement read:
"We'd like to thank Joseph Thomas for his work this season. He's taken us from a poorly performing outfit to division Champs. We owe our promotion to him and the confidence he's brought out in these players.
"It is with great sadness that we part ways, but we understand we couldn't stand in his way to join a stronger outfit who just so had an application deadline of four minutes after our game today. We understand he applied before the final fixture but we appreciate his professional approach to the game today, and winning us the title in style."
We understand Thomas' un-turn-downable job is that of FBK Inter, of Hattrick League's Division 5:10. A strong outfit within the division with a squad value more than ten-times that of his former side.
Thomas wrote a brief message in regards to all of this on his Instagram account, accompanied by a picture of Swanselona star-man Martyn Quarrington holding aloft the Division 7:1 trophy. It read:
"I'd firstly like to apologise to the Swansealona supporters, directors and players for the timing of this change. I hope you'll understand that we as managers are always looking to test ourselves, and I don't think I was tested there. There are very few real life managers around those divisions so I felt I needed a change to actually test myself and hopefully increase my profile.
"I'd like to thank everyone involved in a special club, for making my time enjoyable and being able to beat a bunch of bots. It was a great season for us. Unbeaten. Thank you for everything and best of luck for the future.
"As for my next stop, FBK Inter, I'm looking forward to getting started. I'm looking forward to our first game at the San Siro, waiting for that with great excitement! I'll be meeting the players and club staff later on today and putting together training plans and match tactics for the first game on Saturday. Forza Inter!"
FBK Inter's next match is a home game against Flying Cranes FC, and Joseph Thomas will be hoping for a solid home performance as his new team seek promotion.
