Narrow loss at home to 'Brizzle Elite'
On Friday, we welcomed to 'The Pond' our opponents 'Brizzle Elite' who were just above us in the division.  I chose to go with a very defensive playing style and formation in the hope that this would help us gain something from the game.

We tried to keep everything tight at the back and this worked to some extent, but it meant that we gave up quite a lot of possession.  Unfortunately this plan was blown out of the water in the 23rd minute, when 'Brizzle Elite' scored from close range to make it 0-1.  Erik Güttler did have a shot on goal for us, 4 minutes later, but the shot was straight at the keeper.

At half time, they still led by that single goal and deserved to do so.  We were still in the match though and we had the second half to go.

Dronfield were forced into an early change with Maximilian Thon making way for Tim Merk after only three minutes of the second period with 'Brizzle Elite' coming out dominating possession.  With fifteen minutes to go our opponents really start to dominate the game, and have a couple of good chances forcing saves from keeper Linus Schädlich.  On 83 minutes, the team made its second change with Dennis Surmann coming off to be replaced by Helmuth Knaus.  In the 89th minute, we made our last change with Patrick Gleissner being substituted by Dietmar Bausch.

After three minutes of injury time, the game finished and we had lost by just that single goal.  Not a bad performance just the result that wasn't right.  Hopefully, we can correct this next week with the rematch away at their ground.
