"Come where the hands are clapping... |
"...Come where the toes are tapping
Come where the Jocks are strapping
Scotland the Brave"
sang the Stuffed Heads fans at Quatermass Pit at the end of this afternoon's friendly between the Heads and visitors AFC Marshall from Edinburgh. The game ended 1-0 to the home side after the visitors had had the majority of the chances.
"Yes, you could argue we were lucky", Heads manager Barney agreed at the presser after the game, "but the bottom line is we took our chance and our visitors, for all their excellent all-round play, didn't do that. Anyhoo, I know all the pub landlords around here are looking forward to a friendly invasion by hordes of thirsty Scottish fans."
Responding to an invitation to send his usual message to the Heads fans, Barney said: "my uncle often said 'always leave 'em wanting more'. Great guy, terrible anaesthetist. See ya!".
