Out of the relegation battle - for now |
Brazil studies his complimentary glass of wine, to him it looks half-empty. "It's lucky we're top, because it's a relegation battle from second place down," sweats manager Tony Brazil in the cauldron that is MONTE OLYMPO STADIUM. Matchstick Men have just beaten their hosts, La Legion Del Mal, by a goal to nil and Brazil is feeling the heat. "This win has sent one-time league leaders Legion plummeting to fifth place whilst giving us a bit of a cushion at the top. Second placed Shaolin come to town next round, and a nasty surprise could see us being dragged back into it. "The win today was one full of grit and determination, especially after Duarte was injured at the start of the second half. It was always going to be a defensive grind after that, but we did it and so stay top and out of the relegation battle - for now." Brazil scans the OLYMPO reception room for waiters, bellowing, "more wine here."
