For many of us, Xperteleven is woven firmly into the fabric and architecture of our lives. Work meetings are scheduled around match times. 5am alarms are set on Change Report days. We can't imagine life without it.
But the game we know and love today hasn't always been the same. Here are some of the events and changes that have taken place over the last 15 years which you may not know about or have forgotten about.
- The game was first launched in black and white, as at the time, only 12% of PC monitors were capable of displaying colour
- Iwe's original idea was to "simulate" the games by adopting the selected formation and tactics and playing a game of FIFA, and then typing it all up afterwards. But this idea was abandoned when he realised he would have to play several hundred games of FIFA per hour
- The game was so popular in Sweden in its heyday, that the site actually commissioned replica kits of some of the top teams, and for a while it was common to see men in and around Stockholm wearing FC Ballbreakers shirts
- The high profile of the game in Sweden led its creator, Iwe to become so well known that he made regular TV appearances, including as a judge on Sweden's Got Talent in 2006 and an appearance on Celebrity Million Econ Drop. His real name is Gottfried Wahlqvist

- The Econ became a popular crypto currency in 2015, but due to inflation and exchange rates no-one in real life has got enough to evaluate a player!
- The offside rule was accidentally left out of the game initially, meaning that you could win easily by simply ticking the "goalhanging" option. As players came to realise this, scorelines got higher and higher (including a famous 22-19 result) until the problem was addressed.
- There were no left-footed players in Xperteleven until 2008!

- Xperteleven was banned in China until 2012!
- In an event known at the time as "Swexit", managers from outside Sweden voted by an overwhleming 52% to 48% to leave the Xpertsvenskan in 2005 and the other non-Swedish official leagues were born, allowing free movement of managers across all international markets.
- Early VIP features included having your Change Report sent by post to your home address, and receiving a small replica trophy whenever you won anything.
- After launching in only Swedish and Vietnamese, Xperteleven is now available in many languages, including Esperanto, American and Geordie. Work is underway on a new version using only emojis.

We recently asked you to suggest the changes you'd most like to see in the next 12 months. These three came out top:
- Addition of VAR
- Upload your own face, or those of your friends, to your players
- Voice-activated tactics - control your team by shouting useful guidance to them during the game, using phrases such as "Get goalside!", "Play it into the channels!", "take him out!", and "Twat it!"
