Dark Victory Division 1b, Xpert League Maniger: Wrighty1979

A missed opportunity

Dark Victory arrived at FC Loco Motion for the first visit to the stadium in their history.  Evidence of recent building works seems visible as cement mixers, wheelbarrows and trails of plaster cover the floor.  Wrighty's men enter the pitch to warm up only to find that a 24 by 8 foot brick wall has been built, attached to a set of wheels for mobility.  It stands on the touchline ready to be moved into position.  Wrighty remarks on what a good job the builders have done, expecting this to be part of the redevelopment of the famous old ground. The match begins with Loco Motion happy to sit deep and defend.  Dark Victory press forward with an attacking 3-4-3 formation.  On 15 mins Victory striker Almarez is on the end of a Fernandes cross to poke the ball in at the far post, only for the officials to chalk the effort out for offside. Shortly afterwards, it appears that the Loco Motion staff have quietly been moving the brick wall around to the home side's goal and it now stands covering the goalmouth!?  The Dark Victory players pepper the goal with shots though they continue to bounce back off the wall, as the Loco Motion goalkeeper eats a hotdog on the sidelines.  The sides go in at half time 0-0. It's the same story in the second half as the wall now appears to be at the other end, this time the Loco goalie samples the club's pie range and fills out a staff survey. The game peters out to a 0-0 draw followed by Victory fans frustration as league leaders Black Watch failed to win their game.  This was a missed opportunity as Victory remain second in the table.
