"Hello Xpert Arena, it's good to be back," cheers Hippy Chicks manager Tony Brazil as from the kick-off of the fifth round cup tie Marta Varao hits a long-range shot into the net. Black Ferns are shaken by the early goal and then they suffer an early injury to one of their key midfielders, resulting in Suhayl coming off for seventeen-year-old Russell's debut: a substitution that sends Brazil into paroxysms of pleasure.
At half time it is still only 1-0 to the Hippies with it all to play for, then just before the hour mark it is 2-0 as young Melody Greasley scores; the goal again coming from a long-range effort with Ferns keeper out of position after going up for a corner.
Desperate times for the losing side who fail to have a meaningful attempt on goal for the rest of the match. To be fair, neither do the Hippies but they cruise out winners and now await to see who they face here at the Xpert Arena in the sixth round.
"I love it here at the Arena," confirms Brazil, "I wish we could play all our matches here. It's a happy Hippy hunting ground."
