| Gago goes from zero to hero |
Gago dives the right way and saves the spot kick from Immortal's Tsubahara, sending the noise in the Xpert Arena up several notches. The penalty shoot out and cup-tie can now be decided on the next kick, if Matchstick Men score it is all over.
Pulling himself out of the dirt, Ismael Gago strides up to the spot because he is going to take this decisive kick himself. One step back, a flick of the eyes and suddenly the ball is in the net, Matchstick Men are in the next round and Gago has gone from zero to hero.
"In the league match this week Gago let the ball slip through his fingers into the net and we lost one nil, leaving us in a precarious position. Gago was booed off the pitch then, but after today they'll be singing his name to the rafters.
"Fans are a fickle lot, so lets hope this cup glory makes them lively and our twelfth man when we face Fizzy in what is now a relegation battle," worries Brazil, "but at least we'll be here in the Xpert Arena again next Friday to take our mind off the league."
