| The playoff pay off |
Unbelievable scenes in the 4m Geoff! In what has been a true slumdog story, the Blue Traingle Represent have managed to claw their way into the 3rd tier of Classic Xpert football!
In what turned out to be a tantalizing play off match, all seemed calm and level going into the half-way mark, both teams managing to net their 1st hopes and dreams into a scoreline, 1-1. The Represent seemed to be edging it after taking a commanding 3-1 lead just 25mins after the second half, and seemed assured to be comfortable and runaway winners.
However Consomes CF managed to get a goal back and, as if it couldn't be written, Edward Komen, stalwart midfielder and up and coming star of the Blues, managed to trip over the ball and slide it into his own net to make it 3-3. Talk About Drama!!
As the final minutes dragged on and it looked to be going to Extra Time and then penalties; there was one last muster from the Blue Triangle - whose only second-ever chance at 3rd division glory seemed to be dwindling before their very eyes, much like their first endeavour...
Then, in what was poetry in motion, the lead goalscorer and MVP of the season Tatevos Mehrainin took control of a beautiful Route 1 delivery from the back-line, created some space in front himself, and banged it top bins on a breakaway chance that will go down in history as the greatest ever season a player could have for a club he loves.
All Hail Tatevos. All hail the Xpert Gods!!!
