Jambo takes charge of Douchebags |
JS De Tinchebray manager Gmswjambo shocked staff and fans alike with upping sticks at the end of the Golden League season and taking the helm of Douchebags.
Right enough, JST had been relegated on the final day, the tally of 20 points not necessarily shameful, but ultimately insufficient. Already he has been accused of a sideways step, as his new club are themselves on the brink of relegation, however the Scotsman spoke from his local French PMU to explain:
"It's true that needing to beat the mighty Blubb Blubb on your first day to have a hope of avoiding the drop is far from the ideal scenario one would want on joining, but even if we do go down this club had far greater potential than JST. To be honest, I probably messed up a bit there - failing to restructure after reaching the heights of a cup win and subsequent adventure into the last 16 of the XCL. We were staring down the barrel of having to sell 33 and 34 year-olds to raise funds for youth. Here our squad value is much higher, and even after one or two depart we should still be reasonably competitive."
Gmswjambo's secretary, Mrs Trellis of North Wales, also found the move hard to fathom. She was heard muttering outside JST's Stade Colas des Francs, "I don't know why he's buggered off to another team, let alone one with a name like Toiletry Cases."
