Gwernfadog United have been relegated after their first season in division two. United needed to win and Pyla Village lose but the exact opposite happened to send Gwernfadog down.
"We were winning 0-1 until the last six minutes when Spicks Killie scored two from their only two chances. It pretty much sums up our season as most of our points have been lost in the last ten minutes of games. We've had no luck this season whatsoever!
"In fact, I've reviewed the season's matches and if we only counted our results up until the 80th minute we would have finished fourth! Obviously we didn't have the strength in depth as others sides did, when they could bring on quality substitutions. We also had a lot of injuries and suspensions that caught up with us. It seemed as if fate was against us.
"Nevertheless, we've gained vital experience and we're expecting a good change report. I have no doubt that we'll be looking to bounce straight back up after this.
"In the meantime, it was nice to play our old friends Pyla again. However, they'll need to invest in some younger players or they'll be coming down themselves next season.
"Finally, many congratulations to both River Plate and Tonbridge on their promotion. They thoroughly deserved it."
