Temporarily United did all they could to try and wrestle the title from Blob's North Remembers at the last minute.
And they came so close! Champions Heeds showed their mettle with a tense, 0-0 draw against Blob's team, meaning Temporarily needed a 4-0 win at equipr to snatch top spot.
Manager Rumpyscrumpy said: "We were 3-0 up and it goes into injury time. The screen started flashing and I thought we were going to get a final chance.
"In typical X11 fashion, we shipped one instead of scoring one. So close. We missed out on the title on goal difference of just one goal.
"Even if we had won 3-0, Blob would have won on more goals scored, so it was a 4-0 we needed. We're disappointed, our away form wasn't good enough and, like last season's second place finish, we didn't do well enough against the eventual champions. Congratulations to Blob, great season.
"We've got some good DV and suspect next season may be our last realistic chance of success. Can we do it? We'll try. We're nothing if not United, Temporarily."
