Denvers luck ran out tonight as they lost 7-6 on penalties in the cup semis. "The game plan worked pretty well for us up until the shootout. Our goalie is better than theirs but unfortunately moody keepers will occasionally throw in poor performances and that's what he did today, playing 3 bars below his skill. It didn't help that the opposition keeper played 5 bars above his skill and it was in fact his best ever game for them. It's disappointing that we won't be in back to back finals but you can't win every penalty shootout and this one went against us. It makes it much easier knowing that the league champs will be the other finalists because our chances of beating them would have been slim anyway. "That is the end of our 15 game unbeaten run, one of my best runs on the game considering every game was against good opposition. Hopefully it won't be the start of a poor finish to the season but as long as we don't get relegated it has still been a good season."
