What a final round!!!
With three teams facing relegation, fans were all checking their phones eagerly seeing if the other teams were winning.

As expected, Lisbon Eagles were 2-0 ahead at half time so it became a two team battle. Everyone knew this would happen anyway. Lisbon eventually won 4-0.

Hunskelpers FC were also ahead at half time. It was also expected that their opponents, the league leaders, would not be putting in 100% effort despite not having any youngsters to field. With several players aged 30 and above they were looking very leggy indeed. This is how it ended. This meant that we had to win our own match in order to stay up - the plan all along to concentrate on our own game.

With a high win bonus as an incentive we raced into a 2-0 lead within 11 minutes. If the game allowed us to switch to a very defensive formation at that point we would have but unfortunately we had to remain with what we set to begin with, not very life-like at all but it is what it is. The already relegated home side pulled a goal back so it was 2-1 to TKG at half time. All three teams were wining.

In the 66th minute TKG scored a penalty to restore the two goal lead and despite Hunskelpers beating the leaders they inevitably went down at the final whistle.

The result which kept TKG in 4th place doesn't tell the full story of the season but it does mean yet another year in Division 1.

Congratulations to Arevacos who won their playoff match. The Division 1a opponents amazingly forgot to set their tactics...with a shot at the top Division at stake that's just unforgivable really...but for us we must improve significantly next year.
