Promoted, in the silliest fashion |
With a 1-0 win over Liverpool Ladies FC the Wave Riders are leaving Division 6 and head up one step.
"We controlled the game - in possession, in chances, but didn't score any of our eight. It was a slip up of one of their defenders, that gave us a win. I feel for her. Scoring an own-goal in such an important match must be devastating.
"In the process of the game Yuya was injured right after the half-time restart. This is, of couse a setback as we'll start next season with injuries in all three parts of the team.
"But then - this coming next season will be just all about somehow holding on and seeing if we can avoid relegation, not least as some of the players of this season are likely to leave.
"Our squad is simply too big now, to give everyone playing time. Our youth system just added two too good players, but we've struggled giving others the development time they need."
Plus of course, but that's in the realms of rumours, it seems the club is stretched thin for funds.
