A trip down memory lane
A 3-0 win against Timewasters FC, coupled with our rivals La Viola suffering an unexpected defeat against Sandefjord Fotball, means we move six points clear at the top of Division 2c. It truly was a fantastic set of results for Borgis Football Club.

Timewasters FC are the strongest team in the league on paper and are a team that we haven't beat, or even scored against, in three previous meetings. So to say I was worried about this one was an understatement.

However, we showed our class and form once again scoring three more goals and updating our fine record of 17 clean sheets in 18 games. Our superior goal difference means that we now only need one more win to secure top spot.

On a more personal note, I spoke earlier this week of my Xpert ranking being at it's highest ever, despite being on this game for 14 years (yelp). And Tuesday night's win has now seen it get a little higher. I am currently 8th in England and 30th in the world. Even typing that seems a little crazy. And I know it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but to me it's really such a nice feeling and I intend to lap it up.

It's got the old X11 juices flowing again. In fact, I just purchased VIP for the first time in a very long time and it's fantastic to see all the club stats from my time at the club. In my time as manager we have played 683 league games, winning 330, drawing 154 and losing 199. We have scored 1125 goals and conceded 437, securing 1144 points along the way.

On Friday we play in one of our biggest games ever when we face Methane Rovers in the quarter-final of the cup. And with all the reminiscing I'm doing looking at the stats, it's funny to see that we actually played Methane Rovers in a friendly back in October 2008 - the year I joined Borgis - and just two months before Miczet joined Methane. It was then 11 years later we met again in the biggest ever game for both clubs - the Xtreme League play-off match. We won that battle 1-0 thanks to a Snorri Pétursson penalty in extra-time and went on to reach the top flight for the first and, up to now, only time we have made it. Methane followed a similar course as us the season after.

And now we meet again. Once more we are the underdogs with Methane being 1 skill bar stronger. But like last time we will give it a bloody good go in what is our first ever quarter-final game. We need to give this everything!
