Injuries and their perfect timing |
The dreaded red cross. A cruel mistress who will appear, often when you least expect it, to disrupt your season as best she can.
Dramatic as it sounds, Bucks Revolution will be without star defender Gunnar Elvinsson for the next 10 days. Not the longest injury period but the defensive rock will miss two crucial games; first in the cup against unbeaten Metalosport Galati, then an important league tie against Meadowsland.
Not only that, but the red cross's little brother, the syringe, has found its way to Tito Possanzini, creative midfielder and chief freekick taker. Manager CM will need to manage the injury replacements carefully if he has any chance of navigating these two tricky fixtures.
In other news, Division 3A is really hotting up into what looks like a 3 way title race. An incredibly competitive league where no one has won more than 55% of their games, Engine Room sit top of the pile with 5 games to go. Hot on their heels are Bucks Revolution and Skondals, both of which will need to find more consistency if they want to leapfrog the league leaders.
Judging by the way this division has panned out so far, it's still completely feasible for a team sitting mid-table like Olivais or Dark Side to put together a good run of games and take the title.
