Maniacs late late show

MMFC again showed their frayed nerves as they left it late to seal all three points at home against relegation battlers Seng FC. No dobut Seng FC has improved since their stalemate earlier this season but Maniacs brought it onto themselves and made heavy weather of the game. Fans were more nervous as news filtering in from Perksys that their closest rival Ta Giorni has beaten Perksys Plonkers 3-2. While the tense uneasy feeling was prevalent throughout the stadium, the homesters plodded on the pitch against an opponent who came hell bent on taking home at least one point. Seng FC came well prepared to soak up all that the Maniacs could throw at them choking them up in midfield and blunted their attacks. Maniacs with their sights casted on next week's showdown with Kabul United rested a few regulars and the inexperience shows as they struggled to exert authority in midfield. They even had Noel Ohlund booked in the 16th minute. While chances are far apart, Maniacs fans and players heaved a sigh of relief when SId Wicks rose high to glance in a chip by Troy Tabbart which sent the stadium wild in the 88th minute and Grengo could be seen heaving a huge sigh of relief and they must be migthy relieved tonight to troop off the field winners. "We did not underestimate our opponents. We know of their capabilities but we made it difficult by not playing to the plan. However, we have a big game coming up next week as we play Kabul United. If there is any consolation, Ta Giorni will host DonLebaqs which I believe will be a very crucial match as well. 2 crucial matches for 4 teams. Its will be a big big day on 21st Jan for Div 6:44." enthused Grengo. Indeed, it may well be judgement day come 21st and all four teams will have their season hinge onto the day and we await the Super Monday coming up next.
