Battle Royale 5:23 |
Division 5:23 will see the renewal of rivalry between some known foes for Mancunian Maniacs FC. For a start they have FCM Barcelona for company. FCMB famously hammered MMFC two season ago to take the playoff spot and went up to Div 5 and this season, they are being pitted against one another yet again. FCM with great players in their side, MMFC may be well reminded of their duels two seasons ago but with both teams maturing and getting stronger it will be an interesting battle.
Toonami will find themselves crossing swords with MMFC for the 3rd time in 5 seasons and it will again be interesting as both teams have strengthened and matured. With the likes of Capek, Bixby, Koo and Wellington, they have great quality and it will be an interesting duel again for the two teams.
Other teams who form the division, Red Devils XFC, arguably the strongest team in the division will be the favourites to lead and with top quality all round they will be hard to beat. Gtronics the next strongest team in the division with superstar Katsuyuki Hotta and some of the top names in the division will be opening favourites to join Red Devils going to Div 4 next season. But do not discount the likes of Handyman, the 3rd strongest team in the division with some big names and experience, coupled with a great manager, this team is bound to give the top two a run for their money.
Mighty Ducks who have a young quality team but may show up a bit short up front will have to look to their midfield for great inspiration to go forward. While Zenit St. Petersburg, the dark horse in the league should not be discounted as they look faboulous all round as well.
In short this will be an explosive season for all 8 teams. With no clear cut favourites except for Red Devils and Gtronics, the others in the league are well poised to cause an upset or two that could alter the course of the season for Div 5:23.
When met after the draw, the manager of MMFC noted, "It will be one long hard season but we remain upbeat that our aim to avoid relegation will be fulfilled. Anything more would be a bonus while anything less is a catastrophe as our veterans would want one last hurrah before hanging up their boots in a couple of seasons time."
