Sale Wanderers kicked off life back in Division 3 after an 18 season absence with a hard fought 1-1 draw at home to Blue Brothers. In a bruising encounter, Sale lost both Alf Hitchen and Stojan Omrcen-Ceko to injury but only after Omcren-Ceko's second half strike had earned Wanderers a deserved share of the spoils.
