Transfer Door Keeps Revolving
So....another name change...
This time they are the Darlington Steam. Named after the American Football Club that Dazzler1703 owns in the real world, this is something that is close to his heart.
Added to that, we have had a transfer merry-go-round happen at the club. Outgoings have been Norris Millen, the goalkeeper signed last season to steady the ship before youngster, Kelsey stepped up from the Academy and performed to an exceptional level. Also leaving the club is defender Örlygur Sæmundsson, who announced his upcoming retirement but it was agreed to let him go and find a final club.
Incomings, now this is showing that they mean business. After having a great first season, they wanted to get more strength in places but stay focused on their long term planning so the signing are quite a mix.
First through the door was Ray Keown, an 18/5 midfielder. The next three were experience focused in the signings of Alfred Droste, a 30/12 midfielder to replace the loss of Rufus Coleman, then to cover the gap left in defence by Sæmundsson, in came Andrej Kouba, another 30/12. Replacing Millen in goal or maybe as a back to Kelsey, in came, Nuri Hasselbank a 35/10.
Finally a youth project came through, not quite what Dazzler1703 was after but Mikey Dowson was drafted through. The 18/5 defender is an experiment to see if he can get double jumped in the next change report but, let's see how that pans out.
Is this a newsletter or a press release? Either way....until next time...
