End of season collapse!
Gwernfadog United ended the season in disaster, losing the last two league games, falling to second and then losing the playoff final.
"A draw away at Cruzados in hindsight would have been enough to win the title. However, at the time we didn't want to set up for a draw so went fairly attacking hoping to get the job done. Not only did it backfire but we didn't even score a goal!
We then dropped into the playoffs but got our tactics completely wrong when the opposition decided to make a complete U-turn, despite playing the three games prior with the same tactics.
I can't put into words how bad the last three games have gone. We'd forgotten how to defend and could barely score a goal per game. Perhaps it showed that we didn't have the strength in depth on the bench to last the whole campaign. Obviously we're gutted but with a positive change report, we'll be even stronger next season and will hopefully go up automatic next time."
