"Defend Tahs man, what are you doing so far up the park in injury time?" Matchstick Men manager Tony Brazil is signalling furiously to his players as Vitoria Warriors are holding his side to a 0-0 with seconds to go. Then Brazil erupts, "goal! A cracking header Tahsin, in amongst the madness of our last gasp attack. I never doubted you."
Matchstick travel from the Warriors' Bomfim Estadium straight to Folklore Flamenco as they move from cup to league match, enroute Brazil gives tactical instruction regarding stopping opponents' breakaways; directing his words at defender Tahsin Derelioglu.
Needless to say Tahsin disregards his manager's words and early in the second half he scores Matchstick's second goal, this time after dribbling forty yards from defence to attack. Brazil cheers and tears his hair out then another defender scores their third, this time Silvino Boim doing the honours.
"A classy league win over Flamenco, well done guys," summarises Brazil on the journey back to their Estadio Lucifer, "keep doing your total football stuff if you like in our second leg against the Warriors. So long as we don't lose."
Estadio Lucifer lights up like a beacon as Gavin Snowden hits a thirty-yard screamer for Matchstick's second goal of the night, putting them 3-1 up on aggregate. Brazil laughs, "goal on the eighty-fifth minute when we need to defend our slender lead, and where's Tahsin? He's only up in attack laying off the pass to Snowden!"
The cup match ends with no further scoring so Matchstick Men are through to the fifth round, and their league win means they stay top of the table. Brazil speaks to his troops, "the Warriors fought like demons and played well above their third division level, but we rose even higher.
"Now Flamenco come here for the league return. Whatever you guys are doing do it all over again, all over them".
