Injuries cost United... again!
Gwernfadog United went into their game against Mancaster with a key defensive injury. To make matters worse, another one of their defenders got injured which required a reserve midfielder to come on and play out of position. It was just the luck Mancaster needed, which saw them create more chances and subsequently take the winning goal.
"I'm not one to make excuses but I think we've had the worst injuries of any side this season. Yet again we were forced to make a substitution which has cost us. If only we could have held on for a draw, we could have gone into the last game knowing a win would win us the title. Now, only a 5-0 win will win us the league on goal difference which realistically just isn't going to happen. I know all sides suffer injuries but if we weren't struck with so many we would have won the league by now.
We need to get all our players back for next week when we play Dark Horses knowing that we must at least draw to make the playoffs."
