Tragedy, comedy and ecstasy at Airbnb
"Who's paying ya Warren, tell me the truth," Matchstick Men manager Tony Brazil is restrained by his players and staff as he attempts to assault referee Warren Peace in the tunnel at half-time. The manager continues to hurl insults and kick anything in range as he is carried to the away dressing room.
Brazil's anger is due to Matchstick having a goal disallowed then Herefoss Airbnb scoring two minutes later, the home side's goal being allowed to stand. These close together incidents are the only notable events of the first half so overshadow all. Two minutes was everything.
In the second half Matchstick Men come out blazing and within fifteen minutes their forward Haas has equalised. Two minutes later a back pass drifts into the Herefoss net as their keeper is out of position. It's another two minute frenzy of excitement and just as in the first half that's all there is, the match ends 2-1 to Matchsticks. Another two minutes of everything.
"What a win," Brazil is unchained, "first half was tragedy, that second half own goal was comedy and the win was ecstasy. Three points to the Matchstick Men so stick that in your Peace pipe Warren!"
Brazil gets edgy again so is bundled off to the dressing room. There he can rage and rejoice to his heart's content. The team bus eventually leaves without him so he may still be there, loving his Airbnb experience whilst destroying the room.
