Cream puff
Gmswjambo's PA, Mrs Trellis of North Wales, has been having a bit of a hard time recently with her husband, Reg, who's in a bit of a cream puff. She told her friend Agnes about it, their conversation going something like this.
Trellis: Reggie's been a bit grumpy recently.
Agnes: Really? Why ever the matter, dear?
Trellis: He says I'm too pedantic. Can you believe it?
Agnes: Well, I've heard less crazy stories in my time.
Trellis: You mean "fewer", dear. "Less" works with the singular of the noun; "fewer" works with the plural.
Agnes: There you go.
Trellis: I think it's been building for some time, actually. He just snapped! Told me that in thirty years of marriage all I seem to do is nip his head with corrections about insignificant details, and that he's had enough of it!
Aghes: And what did you say in reply?
Trellis: I told him we'd be married thirty-one years.
As for C.A. Lisieux PA, the promotion push is in jeopardy after a highly-disappointing draw with SLB Sanfins. Gmswjambo left his youngsters on the bench and shook things up with versatile defender Özat given an attacking role in midfield, but credit to the visitors for keeping it tight despite not perceiving our attacking strategy - their back four turned up and kept us at arms' length for much of the encounter.
Two games left and they're against the top two - the bookies naturally have us as long-shots for a go at the top flight but we have to give it a go while we still can. The veterans will need cashing-in on soon.
