With today's cup game behind us we find ourselves in an ambivalent situation - Obviously happy to win and advance yet another round. But we must also keep in mind that with two games a week many players are now struggling to keep form high, and on top of that, we are ridiculously low on funds - Money be tight!!
Not that this is a new situation for us. This is pretty much how it goes every season - As long as we're in the cup race, we will struggle on other fronts. Seeing as we haven't made it past the 6th round in almost 20 seasons, we almost expect at this point that the cup race will end in a week. But one never knows...
More importantly:
We have since many years back had a great youth squad used to recruit young players from. And although we've been laying low on that front lately, we can now finally present a young lad that fought his way up the junior ranks and earned a chance in the A-squad of Whitehorse FC - 19 year old Weith Kelch.
Left behind by his stoner father way back when Weith was a mere 7 year old boy, as the story goes, father Kelch kicked his son of the little league team he was coaching at the time, with the word "You suck boy! Go suck somewhere else!"
We will do the best we can to care for and help young Weith regain his confidence and shine like the star that he is. Maybe then his father will reach out to his long lost son?
