Before the new fresh faces first stepped onto the grass for their first match in the Cup the young boys of A.C. Arrochar were hopeful but not expectant. It had been a long journey from the shores of Loch Long to side of Istanbul. there was much hilarity on the plane and the bus transfer but the kids new what was expected. Their manager had drilled it into them every day for the past two weeks. Frasers had said 'You get out there, you perform to the best of your ability and we go home with a victory in the bag - you get it? - you get it?' The whistle blew and the home side kept the ball well without creating any chances. The whistle blew for the end of the first half and the kids came off wondering where the time went. In the changing rooms Frasers told them to calm down concentrate and start working as a unit. They resumed and the kids played exceptionally well. The goal arrived in the 50 minutes when Paz Salvatierra received a delicate pass from Bendecito Corazón to slot home in the top right corner. The kids went crazy jumping and cheering onto the two of the more senior players. The home team had a goal unfairly cut out when Wallace Sykes poked home after an offside decision in the 77th minute. Then in the dying seconds the Ardgarten Kindergarten team made it two nil when Bendecito Corazón slotted in for a delightful cross from 17 year old Andry Busch. The final whistle blew and the kids were happy, Frasers was happy and barring a disaster at home A.C. Arrochar will be in the next round. Who said you can't win anything with youth?
