Manager:
Codespyder
Close Shave
Parkway Forest FC's return to Div 4 was a tense 2-1 affair against Oberlausitzer Wölfe. The game was bookended by goals from strikers Aroldo Coppola and new record-signing Roger Mordillo. Despite Coppola scoring within the first minute, Forest failed to capitalize with a further 3 chances in the first going awry.
The second half threatened to start the same way, and midfielder Alberto Caixinha had a goal ruled out for offside early after the restart. Forest immediately paid for the profligacy as Wolfe struck with their only chance of the match on 56 minutes.
Forest had to push and push and ultimately won a penalty, from which Mordillo was able to convert in injury time to steal the 3 points. Manager codespyder was pleased with the result, but insisted that his team had to play better.
"Goal conversion was our problem last season, and we need to do better on this front if we are to regain our promotion spot. Signing Roger was a statement of intent that we look to bounce back immediately. He is an experienced striker who has taken part in big matches, and he proved his mettle today late on."
"
I just hope we don't have to spurn 4 or 5 changes each match to get the goals we need. We must be more clinical."
