After missing a fair few of his FC Apollo teams recent games (all of which ended in defeat) it was argued that his tactical no shows were dooming the club to relegation. But after a convincing 3-0 defeat on Mount Olympus on Sunday the "present" Spartan manager had this to say:
The 300 lost the battle you know. You coyld argue the defeat with me actually setting the tactics this time round would point to the need to have me kicked off a wall at pace to fall to my cinematically slow motion doom.
But let's Benitez this up... and deal with facts...
The team is in a period of transition and development. We are in Division 2 against top teams at their peak and we are statistically younger and weaker, we were tactically right on the money. I think it was just a case of playmaker but other than that we guessed one thing more than they did but they are a stronger team than we are at the moment and that was enough. I will put in more of of an effort. The last couple of Sunday's have been tricky I had a cup Semi Final that went to extra time and pens (I missed the last one so was in no mood for anything to do with my phone) and had work straight after.
We knew this season was going to be tough but we have to believe the team will be stronger for it.
Well at least he's not dancing like Pardew.
