Dunstan breaks his silence |
Hard shooting veteran midfielder Todd Dunstan has been speaking candidly to the Istanbul Echo:
"The club has now played a dozen games this season and as of yet, not a single opposing manager has tightly marked me. Given that I am, if I do say so myself, clearly the highest skilled attacker in the team this has been a blow to my usually resilient self confidence. At times I have even begun to doubt the existence of my skill bars, but thankfully my computer algorithm is always there to offer me guidance.
"I may be slightly past my prime but I've kept myself in decent shape and I wouldn't be here if I didn't feel I could lead these lads by example rather than just make up the numbers. I may have played a whopping 337 games for Boobbo FC but the hunger to win games with my speciality long range shots is still there.
"The gaffer and I spoke at length in pre-season and he would not have signed me if he thought I was only coming for the econs and to enjoy the weather and nightlife in Istanbul. The place has rapidly gone downhill since Erdogan got into power anyway...... haha, promise me you'll cut that comment out of the final edit. Seriously, don't print that, please.
"Anyway I've played in Division 3 for most of my career and if CLI 05 can get there with promotion this season then I fully intend to play for at least one more season before making a decision on my future, and while I am here I will play to the best of my considerable ability.
"My message to opposition managers is a simple one - underestimate me at your peril."
